Julia Gabriel : : you may recognize this little powerhouse from Feliz Fall, where she debuted her excellently curated handbag line, and wowed us with her display and poise. She's been working non-stop since, and we can't wait to see her latest collection! Since we interviewed Julia just a mere six months ago - we decide to get to know her a little better by discovering *a few of her favorite things*.
Using principles from architecture with the precision and elegance of ballet, Julia Gabriel Studio designs handmade accessories with striking geometric silhouettes in a bold palette. Everything from dying to cutting to sewing is done by hand, and made-to-order, in our Houston, Texas studio. Julia Gabriel's background in fine art and as a buyer's assistant inherently gives her collections unique usability with an artistic and sculptural feel. We accessorize the woman that is well versed in the art world but enjoys practical style.
We only launched this past August and are excited to bring our second collection, Spring/Summer 2015, to Feliz! Expect a subtly playful group of bags, backpacks, and small goods made from natural vegetable tanned leather and hand-dyed canvas.
Things to eat in Houston:
- Al Pastor tacos from the taco truck next to West Alabama Ice House. I'm not sure what the truck is called :/ but it is the BEST!
Time of day:
- dog walking time
- Squares! (And more recently, circles)
- Baby Face Nelson. I too am often accused of looking younger than I am.
- wrist watch and glasses
- blunt bob
