It's been a couple of months - how have you been? What kind of things have you been making?
It's been a crazy whirlwind since the last Feliz in November. I've experienced some major life changes, which I wrote about on Design*Sponge here, including quitting my day job as a design professor. I'm currently working on my new line of tabletop wares, many of which will be at the Spring show.
Your display during the Fall sale was ah-mazing! Where do you get your ideas and inspiration for such things?
Thanks so much! I love merchandizing my wares and telling a unique story through the displays. I'm always looking for inspiration, be it in an antique shop, hardware store, or in magazines.
You've also added a perfume to your line-up that sold out and is now up for a scent award - how was it creating a perfume? Will there be more Canoe perfumes in the future?
Creating Skive was a highlight of the past year. It was truly an honor to work with Jessica of J.Hannah Co. to develop the scent. Skive truly captures my studio and shares a very personal experience with my customer.
Lastly, it's the time of year that people start saying things like "Spring Cleaning" and such. Do you identify as a Spring cleaner or more of a collector/hoarder of things?
I am absolutely a minimalist and try to spring clean throughout the year. I do have small collections, but I like to rotate them in my space so it feels fresh.
