GAL PAL: Miranda Bennett and SISTER

Miranda Bennett and SISTER have teamed up for a special pop-up sale at Olive tomorrow! These two ladies are Feliz alumni - Miranda with her hand dyed gauzy dresses, tops and scarves, and Jenny of SISTER with hand formed ceramics and boob culture. Over the past few weeks they've come together to make ceramic embellished dresses, a gal-pal exclusive!

We ask these two cuties a couple of questions, here's what they came up with:

1. You have a big event coming up tomorrow, tell us what you'll have! Are you bringing anything new?

Miranda: The pieces I'm most excited about are from the Miranda Bennett x Sister collaboration. Jenny's beautiful ceramics have been incorporated in an assortment of my dress styles that are all one-off's.

I will have my signature Everyday Dress in a number of fabrications, from washed silk noil to summery cotton gauze and a number of new designs from my current series, you can take a peak here:

I'll also have a range of my Shibori dyed textiles on hand, dyed in indigo as well as other botanical based dyes.

Jenny: I'll have a large assortment of ceramic boobs, big ones, small ones, white, black, brown, pink and blue. There will also be a couple of vases, necklaces, and hair accessories. I've also made some special beads for Miranda's dresses that I'm very excited to see together.

2. Have you mentally prepared yourself for Texas summer? Any survival tips?

M: It snuck up on me a bit this year, but my survival must's are always Barton Springs, Topo Chico and plenty of shade.

Really summer for me is about embracing the heat and slowing down rather than fighting it. Secret swimming holes with friends help a lot, too. I love the summer side of folks in Austin.

J: I have only mentally prepared in that I know I will go insane, and I'm allowing myself to get wild. My main survival tip is this: there will be sweat. Embrace it.

3. What's the weirdest thing in your closet right now?

M: A pair of wide leg, cropped boy's Levi's that I bought for $1 in Decorah, Iowa.

J: I have the most amazing denim duster that I wore almost every day this winter.
