Paige grew up near the Texas coast and in a tiny beach town in central Florida. She is majoring in Design Communication at Texas State and is resident shop-girl at Kickpleat. When not working, you'll find her riding her bike, picking flowers, and enjoying any space with a patio. She is the third of the four lovely ladies interning with Feliz this year to be introduced by her very own Friday Favorites:
This is a really dreamy post for me to write because it gives me a valid reason to daydream and plan a really awesome Friday. On a normal Friday, you can find me steaming new arrivals, uploading images, and helping the stylish ladies of Austin at Kickpleat. Fridays are always fun, but Fridays off from work are like a rare and precious gem; you must work very hard for them and treasure them for the rest of your life.
First stop on my dream Friday (or Saturday, or Sunday, if we can't make Friday happen) is one of the following places: Rio's Brazilian Cafe, 24 Diner, or if this Friday is actually a Saturday, the SFC Farmers' Market downtown. All of these are good choices and will give me, or you, the fuel we need to get going.
Second stop, the outdoors! A bike ride, an attempt at paddle boarding, a trial and error session with a canoe or kyack, anything and everything is an option! It doesn't matter if you have no idea what you're doing, you're outside and its gorgeous! TIP: For a fun adventure, take your bike across the Lamar Boulavard Bridge that gets you to the other side of Town Lake (aka Lady Bird Lake). Stop on the bridge to take a photo, or catch your breath and lower your heart rate as needed.
Third stop, a meusem of your choosing! It might be pretty standard, but I dig the Blanton. Laguna Gloria is also a nice spot to leisurly walk around and slow down a bit. Plan, or don't plan an inpromtu photo shoot with your friends. Also, I feel like I would be hungry around this time, but I'm not good at lunch spots so I would probably just end up grabbing a smoothie. Smoothies are readily accessable in Austin, they are also healthy. You can't take them into the Blanton though, they will confiscate your overpriced smoothie.
Fourth stop, is probably a shower at home. If this day has been as fun as it sounds, feet should hurt and that delicious feeling of being sun tired should start creeping in. But don't give in to staying in! It's Friday! Put on your dancing shoes and go grab a drink and some food at East Side Showroom, Blue Dahlia Bistro, Hillside Pharmacy, or Bufalina before the next stop.
Fifth stop, on the last few blissful hours of this amazing, inspiring, memory making Friday, I want to be groovin' to one of the many shows that happen in Austin on any given evening. An upcoming show you'll see me at is Allen Stone at Emo's (even though he's playing on a Wednesday, not Friday). He's got a soul/gospel inspired sound that will get you swaying and smiling in no time.
