Lovecraft may be a newbie to Feliz, but their style feels quintessentially Austin: vintage with a laid back vibe, and eclectic accessories. We have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of Lovecraft around this city in the future...

Lovecraft! Thanks for joining Feliz this year! Tell us a little bit about who you are, what you do, and what things you'll be bringing to Feliz:
I grew up living a nomadic lifestyle with my hippie parents around Europe and across the U.S. Most everything we owned was hand me down or vintage back when it wasn't very cool! Through our travels and simple upbringing, I developed a deep love for thoughtful design that can withstand the test of time. Since then, I opened and managed the Buffalo Exchange in Houston back in the late 90's, worked at a vintage co-op, was a buyer for Urban Outfitters in Philadelphia.
Since my move back to Texas I've met so many talented creators and makers. I opened lovecraft as a venue to showcase their work in May 2015. At Feliz, I will be bringing great holiday gift items made by friends in Austin as well as some select vintage and goods made in the U.S.A. Ceramics, jewelry, perfume, vintage!
Your set up for psych fest was pretty amazing. How would you say music inspires your style?
Psych Fest was lots of fun! We met so many genuinely kind and creative folks at the festival. Music has been a huge part of my life starting back when my Dad first introduced me to Bob Dylan as a kid. It's the voice of individuality and goes hand in hand with freedom and self expression. I believe that personal style, like music, is an extension of who we are, and in a way, it helps us to communicate with each other and also brings beauty into our lives on a daily basis.
Who are your forever-style icons?
Oh wow, so many good ones! I would have to say that the biggest style icons in my life have been the musicians I have grown up with . David Bowie, Siouxsie Sioux, Bijork, Nick Cave, Debbie Harry, and Francoise Hardy to name a few.
What inspires you about the way people dress in Austin?
I love that Austin marches to the beat of it's own drum. It's not confined by trends and you see all sorts of styles represented here. It's inspiring when you see someone who has put an amazing look together that is totally individual and unique regardless of budget or designer. Getting dressed should be fun and I think Austin represents that!
