We all know the famous scene in Sound Of Music when Maria sings about "a few of her favorite things" to the children? These favorite things are less about instant gratification and more about savoring the moment and lifting spirits (Raindrops on roses, anyone?). Birch and Goldberry happens to sell two of my *favorite* things - handmade/complex/good smells for the bath and house, and fun bright wrapping paper for all my holiday gifts this year.

We're happy to add y'all to the Feliz lineup this year - can you tell us what kind of things you'll be bringing?
We’ll be bringing products from our new fall line, including handcrafted soap made from plant-based oils, soy wax candles and hand-painted paper goods, including notecards and wrapping paper.
How did Birch & Goldberry get started?
Stephanie and I (Hillaree) are sisters and we met Beth while in the painting program at the University of Houston. After graduating in 2013, we were all working jobs that weren’t necessarily art-focused. I think we were all a bit scared of getting caught up in jobs that took us away from our creative ambitions and decided to form a collective of sorts. We decided to test the waters at a local holiday market and were overwhelmed by the support we received to move forward.
I must know, even if it's a cliche question, where does the name come from?
When we started Birch & Goldberry we aspired to create a studio that was an extension of our artistic practices; heavily inspired by the habits of nature offset by a controlled minimalism. We wanted a name and brand reflecting that initial commonality between the three of us.
What products do you love to keep in your house?
Dark chocolate chips!
The wrapping papers are lovely, it makes me wonder if you enjoy giving gifts like me - why is gift giving so pleasurable?
Thank you! Gift-giving is one of my favorite things about life. I think there’s something special about receiving a present picked specifically for you. I think the gift itself and also the presentation both convey love and thoughtfulness.
